3rd Wednesday of every month meeting at 10.30am
Different walking venues/car parks around Exmoor
Amble not Ramble is a walking group set up for people who enjoy being outside and walking but who might have memory loss, impaired mobility or just lack of confidence. Come along to this friendly and welcoming group to enjoy being outside, appreciating the seasons and the lovely countryside of Exmoor. Walks will be a maximum of 1 hour long, at a slowish pace, on good flat or mildly sloping ground, with options to turn back along the way. Walks are wheelchair friendly.
Walks will start from different venues each month but always from a car park. If people don’t know the whereabouts of the start point, directions and leading the way can easily be arranged.
Walks will start at 10.30am with coffee/tea and biscuits afterwards. This will either be at a local cafe/tea shop or will be from the Amble not Ramble now famous "back of the van tea/coffee stall” Drinking a mug of coffee on the top of North Hill following a walk, with the breeze blowing, larks singing or the smell of heather wafting, is a real joy for us all.
The walks are free (donations to Minehead Dementia Action appreciated) but you will obviously need money if a tea shop visit is involved.
Wear suitable shoes and waterproofs if you think necessary: we walk whatever the weather!
People who are considered vulnerable must be accompanied by a carer.
