Memory Cafe

Fun, friendship, refreshments, games and support

Every other Thursday Morning (10.30 am – 12 pm) at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Hall (Next to garage) Minehead Townsend Road TA24 5RG

On alternate Thursdays (see dates below), a Memory Cafe is run with a variety of activities, speakers, fun and games and with tea/coffee and biscuits provided.
The Café provides an opportunity for anyone with Dementia/Memory Loss, their Carers, family members and friends to get together.

At the café everyone receives a warm welcome. Normally the first half an hour is a time for a chat and getting to know each other.

We start the activities at 11am with a physical warm up and gentle stretching session. Activities include guest speakers, practical demonstrations, musical bingo and playing tactile games. Most all we aim to have Fun.

People with Dementia/Memory Loss benefit greatly from the sessions by moving, reminiscing and engaging in activities.

Carers, family and friends have the chance to talk to about their experiences and exchange tips and ideas on how to best help their friend/client/relative. The Café provides an opportunity for Carers, Family and friends to leave the person they care for in safe hands whilst they have some respite time for themselves. We do ask that attendees are able to be safely left with us. Please note that we are unable to provide personal care.
